Background
Recent CHEP data has indicated many diagnosed hypertensives in Alberta do not receive/seek appropriate therapy. In addition, a 'needs assessment' report implemented to evaluate health care provider knowledge on hypertension resulted in identifiable knowledge gaps concerning hypertension diagnosis, management, treatment and control. CHEP's goal is to provide all interested Canadian health care professionals adequate materials in order to fill these gaps in knowledge. As a pilot study to a national effort, we have initiated a provincial dissemination plan for Albertans. Alberta was chosen because the province has the largest population of untreated aware hypertensive patients. The link below allows for material download as well as hard copy mail out.
