Dr. L. Brent Mitchell
Brent Mitchell, MD, is the Head of the Departments of Cardiac Sciences at both the University of Calgary and the Calgary Health Region. Dr. Mitchell attended the University of Calgary and obtained degrees in Biochemistry and medicine. After a Fellowship in Clinical Cardiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, he undertook a Fellowship in Research Cardiology at Stanford University Medical Centre, California.
Dr. Mitchells clinical practice and research interests are in the area of clinical cardiac electrophysiology, particularly in the clinical science of tachyarrhythmias. He is honored to be the first Director of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta.
